FORGOTTEN COAST SALES UPDATE – DECEMBER 2021

There was a increase in sales of properties on St. George Island, Apalachicola, Carrabelle and Eastpoint during the month of December 2021 with 61 total sales – 25 single family homes, 3 condo/town homes, 5 mobile homes, 26 residential home sites and 2 commercial properties. St. George Island saw the most activity with 22 total sales – 11 single family homes, 1 town home, 9 residential home sites and 1 commercial property. Apalachicola had 9 total sales – 4 single family homes and 5 residential home sites. Carrabelle had 19 total sales – 6 single family homes, 2 condo/town homes, 3 mobile homes and 8 residential home sites. Eastpoint had 11 total sales – 4 single family homes, 2 mobile homes, 4 residential home sites and 1 commercial property. Sales ranged from a low of $20,000 for a residential home site in Magnolia Ridge in Eastpoint to $2,473,500 for a 6 bedroom/6 bath gulf front home in the Plantation on St. George Island.

Sales activity throughout the area was up significantly in 2021 as compared to 2020 and we also saw a significant increase in sales prices compared to 2020. The increase in sales volume is a combination of the low interest rates and an increase in folks moving here permanently due to the ability to continue working remotely.
