FORGOTTEN COAST SALES UPDATE – JULY 2016

Summer is coming to an end although you would never know it here on the Forgotten Coast.  It has been in the 90’s for last few months.  I, for one, am ready for fall and some cooler temperatures.  The fall is one of the best times to plan a visit to the area as rental rates are lower and the beaches are not crowded at all.  It is also a great time to look at properties which are currently for sale.  If you will be visiting and would like to check out some of the great real estate options in the area, I would be glad to meet with you.

Sales activity for the month of July was a little slower with 45 properties closed – 22 single family homes, 4 condo/town homes, 2 commercial vacant land and 17 residential lots.  St. George Island showed the most activity with 15 total sales – 7 single family homes, 1 condo and 7 residential lots.  In Apalachicola there were 11 total sales – 6 single family homes, 1 commercial lot and 4 residential lots.  In Carrabelle there were 10 properties sold – 3 single family homes, 2 units in Lanark Village,  1 condo in the Landings and 4 residential lots.  In Eastpoint there were 8 properties sold – 5 single family homes, 3 commercial lots sold as one unit and 2 residential lots.  There was 1 single family home sold on Dog Island.  Sales prices ranged from $19,000 for a river view lot in the River View subdivision in Apalachicola to $1,300,000 for a 5 bedroom gulf front home in the St. George Plantation.
